Over
the past decade, Colombian tenor Juan Carlos Echeverry has developed a
brilliant career in Europe, where he has been acclaimed for his
interpretation of some of the greatest oeuvres in the European
repertoire.
Being equally inspired by Latin
American composers, he has grown eager to create a recital based on a
very personal evocation of this repertoire: a selection of "cantares"
close to his heart which draw from Spanish popular songs to arias by
Alberto Ginastera, from gypsy laments to Mexican sung poems, from pieces
by Carlos Guastavino to jewels by composer Jaime León.
With "Cantares", Juan Carlos Echeverry invites us to a heart felt interpretation of hot blooded and poetic pieces.
