CONCERT | 30 NOV.: Peruvian Groove Night with Barrio Nuevo


 Aracataca is proud to launch PERUVIAN GROOVE! A night with LIVE MUSIC and delicious food & drink showcasing Peru's diverse culture. From mystical Andean Huaynos to vibrant Afro-Peruvian Festejos and Bohemian Barranco's musical scene, we will be showcasing it all at our Peruvian Groove nights.

The first London show in three years for El Sonero Mayor, the truly great Venezuelan salsa singer and bandleader and London’s salsa event of the autumn. Oscar D’Leon, “El Leon de la Salsa”, was born in the Caracas’ neighbourhood of Etamin where he began to show interest in percussion instruments and to sing at social activities as a young child. His capacity to improvise, the texture of his voice and his intense love for the music, make Oscar D’Leon a born ‘sonero’ in the best Latin tradition.

"Latin America's hottest singer-songwriter… a soulful poet with electric guitar." Raised in Medellín, Colombia, Juanes began playing guitar at age seven. Juanes' third album, Mi Sangre, achieved success due to the single "La Camisa Negra". He has since released La Vida Es Un Ratico (2007) and P.A.R.C.E. (2010). He has won seventeen Latin Grammy Awards and one Grammy Award. Juanes received the BMI President's Award at the 2010 BMI Latin Awards and is also known for his humanitarian work, especially with aid for Colombian victims of anti-personnel mines.

Gerardo Osal is a Venezuelan troubadour who has played all over the country and Latin America. He has been invited to perform at El Sueno Festival in Wales three times since it first opened in 2005 and has forged a strong friendship with musicians in the UK and Europe touring Spain, Italy and UK.

Anselmo Netto Quartet : 24th November, London


Born and raised in Bahia, Brazil, Anselmo Netto is one of the most sought-after musicians on the London scene. Whether as a percussionist or playing bandolim - the Brazilian mandolin - Netto's music mixes native Brazilian rhythms with a wide range of global influences. Anselmo performs today with Matheus Nova (bass), Enzo Zirilli (drums) and Netto Pio (guitar).

Lori Meyers : 26th November, London

Lori Meyers is an band from Loja, Spain, formed in 1998. The members are Antonio López, Julián Méndez, Alejandro Méndez and Alfredo Núñez. First their style was asociated to the of Los Planetas (Granada is near Loja) but later the influences with rich related them with other granadian band: Los Ángeles. They have produced two EPs, La Caza and Ya Lo Sabes, and three LPs, "Viaje De Estudios", "Hostal Pimodan" and "Cronolánea".
