"Latin America's hottest singer-songwriter… a soulful poet with electric guitar." Raised in Medellín, Colombia, Juanes began playing guitar at age seven. Juanes' third album, Mi Sangre, achieved success due to the single "La Camisa Negra". He has since released La Vida Es Un Ratico (2007) and P.A.R.C.E. (2010). He has won seventeen Latin Grammy Awards and one Grammy Award. Juanes received the BMI President's Award at the 2010 BMI Latin Awards and is also known for his humanitarian work, especially with aid for Colombian victims of anti-personnel mines.

Brazilian born singer/songwriter and composer Angelita Jimenez, is fast establishing herself in the UK music scene for her stunning soft vocal delivery, perfect for her Brazilian Music style. They will perform their latest compositions, which combine contemporary Brazilian Music with some traditional influences with their unique twist, along with special guests.

CONCERT | Nirk Molina & Eduardo Parra : 18 May @ Zumbale!

Nirk Molina with his fusion of pop vocals and traditional Colombian vallenato the traditional music of the Colombian rural people. He embodies the very soul of Latin America. To complete this double bill will be Eduardo Parra leader of Fuerza Vallenata arrived several years ago and today still runs the London-based band  performing the music known as "Vallenato" and also being one of the first people to bring this hugely popular Colombian style of music to this country.

Hailing from very different musical background, Maria Camahort (Barcelona) and Jamie McCredie (London) met in late 2008 at the prestigious Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London where they studied postgraduate classical and jazz repertoire respectively.

Robin del Castillo : 12 May @ New Latin Corner - Grand Opening

 

Robin del Castillo is a Colombian musician who is becoming internationally famous for his salsa music. Since 2001, Robin Del Castillo has been based in London (UK) working tirelessly on his personal projects and making his mark wherever he goes. His musical career started in Colombia with different bands like Orchestra Matecaña and then in London with the Roberto Pla Orchestra among other big names on salsa scene.

25 May : Noche de Tambo! with Cumbé

Zenoria Trio : 24 May, London

Zenoria Trio at National Theatre. Incredible variety of music, including Tango, Classical, Folk & Jazz, specially arranged for the unique combination of two violins and double bass.

Three to Tango : 14 May, London

 

Three to Tango brings to life the great works by the legendary Argentinian Astor Piazzolla. The Trio is formed by passionate musicians who love tango music and its rich and complex history. Their repertoire also includes traditional tangos by Gardel, Rodriguez and Firpo.

Domingo Candelario : 5th May, London

 

Domingo Candelario will be performing at Union Chapel as part of Daylight Music, one of London's finest regular events. Daylight music is a dazzling idea presented by the Union Chapel to open up their amazing gothic venue to a shiny new daytime crowd and provide a rather exciting platform for artists.

Baila Londres : 26 May, London

 

After a great 2nd Anniversary Party last month we’re back again on 26th May with another triple act! Three popular DJs on the Cuban scene will be lifting the rafters with a hell-raising selection of the hottest salsa, timba, bachata and more from regular DJ, Green Papi (Oriente Star Sound) who’ll be joined by Baila Londres first timers – the inimitable Sol y Rico!!

Juan de Marcos Afro Cuban All Stars + Lokkhi Terra : 25th April, 2012

 

 The first time in London for seven years for the mighty Afro Cuban All Stars and their leader Juan de Marcos Gonzalez.  Juan de Marcos has been a key figure in Cuban music for the last twenty five years first as a founder of Sierra Maestra and then in bringing together  the artists who became Buena Vista Social Club and latterly introducing a raft of new Cuban artists as a label boss and impresario.
