CONCERT | MANTECA : 26 JULY

This vibrant 8-piece salsa band, formed by famed Colombian singer Martha Acosta, has been “salsa-ing” across the UK and Europe for over 7 years now. Martha, best known for her work with her all woman Latin band “Candela” and Roberto Pla’s “Latin Ensemble”, drives the band along with her searing Latin vocals and powerhouse personality.

UK's very own 'acordeonero' Jose Hernado Arias Noguera, winner of BBC World Routes Academy  and finalist 2012 at Festival Vallenato in Valledupar,Colombia will be accompanied by La Tropical Vallenata to celebrate an special night full of great classics and Parranda atmosphere.

Uplifting Latin Singing with Camilo Menjura : 26 January

 

 This workshop will be an evening of uplifting group singing of traditional Latin and South American songs.

The group will learn songs, harmonise and create rhythms using their voices. Together we will recreate the wonderful earthy and warm sound of Latin music adding a touch of funk where necessary. All levels and styles welcome with no need to read music. All songs taught by ear.

Lori Meyers : 26th November, London

Lori Meyers is an spanish indie pop band from Loja, Spain, formed in 1998. The members are Antonio López, Julián Méndez, Alejandro Méndez and Alfredo Núñez. First their style was asociated to the noise pop of Los Planetas (Granada is near Loja) but later the 60s revival influences with rich vocal harmonies related them with other granadian band: Los Ángeles. They have produced two EPs, La Caza and Ya Lo Sabes, and three LPs, "Viaje De Estudios", "Hostal Pimodan" and "Cronolánea".

Fiesta en la Terraza brings you the ultimate party with the most exciting Latin, Spanish ans Global fusions acts.  This 26th August return to El puerto del Canario the amazing band "Los independientes del Vallenato" with an special Vallenato, cumbia and folk from Colombia adding this time a twist of fusion specially prepared for this ocassion. Bostich & Fussible (Nortec Collective) @ Lucha Future : 24 - 26 June, London

Get ready to get your dance on! The Tijuana-based Nortec Collective is in the house. Fusing “Norteno” and “techno,” Bostich & Fussible (two of the four DJs that make up the collective) create infectiously danceable mixes. With crisper production values, the newest release Bulevar 2000 mixes banda and electronica into a sound that is as Chinola as ever. This event is part of Lucha Future at Roundhouse from 24-26 June.

Hotel Mama (COL) : 23-27 June, London

The band will now have to be measured winners Argentina and Mexico, amongst Asian countries, to play at the outdoor festival Hard Rock Calling London, to be held from 24 to 26 June in Hyde Park in London . For this festival already confirmed their participation Bon Jovi and Rod Stewart. As a bonus contest, Hotel Mama will have a live concert for the 2011 televised version of the music awards in Colombia.  Latinos in London radio will announce the upcoming gigs of Hotel Mama in London this week supporting this great band from Latin america.
