GANDAIA ARTS brings THREE BANDS to fill the night with the best of a hidden Brazil brought to you specially to this occasion!
A pre-party for Notting Hill Carnival, this will be the celebration of Maracatudo Mafua’s 2nd parade at NHC in partnership with Cocoyea Mas Band.
On this night they will have a special set with surprise guests as well as their dancers and musicians performing in full glory! The night will also count with the honorable presence of a number of visiting artists from Pernambuco, a state in the North East of Brazil.
Coco
de Praia is a group formed by Pacheco Cantador and Arnaldo do Coco,
aiming to transmit the culture of “Samba de Coco” (Coconut samba) in
order to enrich the cultural legacy of the city of Olinda and the state
of Pernambuco. Showing its roots and joyful musicality, the group has
since 2008 transformed “fisherman stories” into the songs released on
their first album as part of Olinda’s 2012 Carnival. This will be their
UK album launch “Mestres das Artes- Manhas do Mar”. This initiative is
supported by Funcultura.
On the decks, Dj D.Vyzor with his Strictly Vinyl Set will be spinning via 2 turntables some Latin Breakbeats, Jazz Funk, Rare Grooves and beyond.
