MUSIC l Robin del Castillo : No te Vayas

For some years now Robin del Castillo has been working tirelessly on his personal projects and making his mark wherever he goes. His musical career started in Colombia with different bands like Orchestra Matecaña and then in London with the Roberto Pla Orchestra among other big names on salsa scene.

Following his dream of making it as a singer in London, he founded his own Latin band becoming one of the most acclaimed artist around the city on different clubs and festivals around England and Europe. Recent works include the album “Mi Tierra” which delights with great and exceptional quality songs and video clips like “She Is The One”, “Mi Tierra”, “Aquella Mujer” to name just a few where he demonstrates his musical growth during his career. Linking his previous work with this new material, he shows the best sound quality and professionalism giving to London’s latin music scene a good ranking on this genre.

In 2011 Robin released “No Te Vayas” (Don’t leave), is part of the album “Sin Limites” which is due to come out soon this year – a hommage to Salsa Romantica, a genre known for its heartfelt lyrics and and memorable and catchy choruses.

“No te vayas” reminds of the early Eddie Santiago songs on my opinion and off course is a good feeling to hear this kind of music which contains all the ingredients a good salsa song needs: romance, sadness, joy, forgiveness and much heart mixed with the sound of the essential salsa instruments.

Produced by his own label, Del Castillo Latin Productions, the album “Sin Limites” was partly recorded in Robin’s hometown in Cali, Colombia and Europe. The lyrics were written by Robin himself and playing with him are various musicians who have accompanied him on his musical journey over the years.

Embarking on his solo career has certainly proven the right step: his music paired with his stage presence and the ability to captivate the audience, Robin del Castillo has long become a favourite act in London’s Latin community and beyond. He gets any party into full swing and thus contributing to a positive image of Colombia and Latin America.
