FRENTE CUMBIERO explores the sound and identity of
cumbia throughout Latin America. Having participated in cumbia-related
projects since 1999 in Colombia, Mexico, Argentina, Uruguay, England,
France and Holland, the band has collaborated with key players in the
cumbia movement, building bridges between the cumbia capitals of the
world, all the way from New York right through to Buenos Aires.
On one
of it’s more recent projects, and with the support of the British
Council, FRENTE CUMBIERO joined forces with legendary dub producer MAD PROFESSOR to produce one of the first tangible encounters between Cumbia and Dub. www.frentecumbiero.com / www.myspace.com/frentecumbiero
COLOMBIAGE, in association with the HAY FESTIVAL, are delighted to bring you FRENTE CUMBIERO, one of Colombia’s most pioneering Cumbia bands paving the way for new musical encounters between genres, generations, continents, artists and much more.
The result was mesmerising and we are delighted to be working in association with the Hay Festival to premier their work in London at Brixton’s JAMM this coming May.
