30 JUNE | FESTIVAL DEL BAMBUCO @ New Latin Corner

Bambuco is a traditional music genre originated from Colombia. It has a beat structure similar to the European waltz or polska (not to be confused with the polka). Typically a bambuco piece is a folk music song accompanied by a stylized group dance.

 Bambuco took a cultural foothold in the Andean region of Colombia and has spread in popularity throughout Latin America. The Festival Folcl√≥rico y Reinado Nacional del Bambuco in Neiva is a festival celebrating bambuco music.


This 30th June don't miss a special celebration from 1pm to 6pm at the New Latin Corner from Colombia to London celebrating El festival del Bambuco. Also a Traditional food available from Colombia.
(Lechona)Lechona is a popular Colombian dish, similar in style to many other South American dishes. It consists of pork stuffed, yellow peas, green onion, yellow rice, and spices cooked in an outdoor, brick oven for about ten hours. It is traditional to the Tolima Department in central Colombia. It is usually accompanied by arepas (a corn-made bread).
