Exploring the music of the Mediterranean throughout the weekend we explore the rich musical traditions of the Mediterranean on the FreeStage. Saturday features performances from Jaljala, The Stamp Collective and Jardares Por Fuera and a ClubStage set from Turkish DJ Mercan Dede. On Sunday, take part in the Ronda, a traditional Italian group dance hosted by Ludovico Einaudi,... and FreeStage performances from El Andaluz and Cidgem Aslan.

The Stamp Collective 3.30pm
This 20-piece band from Guildhall School have taken tunes from around the world, fused them into energetic arrangements and put their own “Stamp” on them.

Jaljala 4.45pm
An innovative multicultural collaboration between four charismatic musicians of different nationalities comprising of Arabic rhythms, Eastern European harmonies, haunting melodies, and beautiful voices.

Jardares por Feura 6.15pm
Jardares Por Fuera fuse funky Rumba Flamenco, Reggae, Swing and Hip Hop in a mix of simplicity and extravagance that captures the spirit of Barcelona.

El-Andaluz are leading exponents in London of classical Arabic and Andalusian music taking the audience on a journey of Egyptian, Saharan, Spanish and Algerian culture.

Cidgem Aslan sings from a repertoire consisting of the ‘Smyrniac’ style – an oriental style associated with the port of Smyrna/Izmir – and songs from the 1930s.

A Celebration of Contemporary Canadian Sound & Vision featuring some of Canada’s hippest musical exports including performances from Linda McRae, Ryan Driver, Mantler, Maylee Todd and Sandro Perri, and a free screening of Ivory Tower, featuring a score from Canadian electro-pop pioneer, singer-songwriter and producer Chilly Gonzales.

Linda McRae
Award-winning Canadian born singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Linda McRae will be showcasing her new direction into traditional Roots music.

Ryan Driver
Ryan Driver sings contemporary folk and jazz-themed surrealistic music focusing on his poignant lyrics and eclectic music tastes.

Playing a Wurlitzer electric piano accompanied by a 1970s Rhythm Ace drum machine, Toronto’s Mantler brings his unique mix of moody songs and programmed beats.

Sandro Perri
Varying between new song, folk, electronic, dance and experimental music, Sandro Perri moves in unpredictable musical directions between song, improvisation and instrumentals.

Maylee Todd
Quirky and charismatic, Maylee Todd delivers a diverse repertoire of soulful pop tunes and inspired tropical grooves featuring such obscure instruments as the Paraguayan harp.
