Rosana Arbelo is one of the most established songwriters in Spanish music, since her first album in 1996, Lunas Rotas, Rosana has sold more than 8,000,000 copies worldwide and has given more than 800 concerts in Spain, Europe, America and Asia. The optimism, uplifting good vibe and energy of her guitar as made her a unique artist in the Spain.
Lunas Rotas, with its single El Talisman, became the fastest debut selling album by a Spanish artist and was released in over 30 countries, including Mexico, Brazil, USA, France, Germany, Japan and Korea. In Germany it sold over 30,000 copies within a week, and film director and producer Quentin Tarantino used two of her songs in the movie Curdled.
Throughout her career Rosana has received several awards. With Lunas Rotas she received two Ondas Awards for Best New Artist and Best Album, Music Award (granted by the SGAE and AIE) for Best New Artist, Best Female New Artist and Best Pop-rock album, and platinum disc for selling over a million copies throughout Europe. With Luna Nueva she won the Amigo Award for Best Female Solo and the COPE Award, and with Rosana the Special Prize granted by the public at the Festival Viña del Mar (Chile) and the Gardel Music Award in Argentina for Best Female Artist.
Apart from her albums, Rosana has collaborated with artists such as Armando Manzanero, Sting, Raimundo Amador, Maria Dolores Pradera and Ketama amongst others.
