Manzana Tropical is an exciting new Latin act from London playing the form of Peruvian Cumbia known as Chicha. Having been brought up immersed in London’s thriving Latin American musical community young musicians Manuy and Cleyder Figueroa began the project inspired by the heritage of their motherland in Peru.
Their music incorporates a homage to classic Peruvian acts including Grupo Nectar, Los Pakines and Chacalon as well as Latin legends such as Santana combined with a strong London sensibility. Manzana’s live set comprises some re-interpretations of Chicha classics and some original songs.
The band also contains the core musicians from one of the finest Andean fusion acts – Kausary - who have played at most of the UK’s top festivals and have toured extensively in Europe.
Nirk Molina "UK's King of Vallenato" one of the shining lights of the
Colombian/cumbia and vallenato London scene. Playing in many of the
established London tropical bands he has now put his own outfit together
playing a mix of folkloric cumbia and Vallenato cumbia classics and his
own compositions.Nirk Molina with his fusion of pop vocals and
traditional Colombian vallenato the traditional music of the Colombian
rural people. He embodies the very soul of Latin America Vallenato,
which originated in the Valle de Upar in northeastern Colombia, has
roots in African, European, and native Colombian music. It uses native
bamboo flutes, African-inspired drums, and German accordions. For many
years the music was looked down upon in Colombia because it was
associated with poor people and minority groups.However, Molina and
other artists have brought it into the mainstream and have also
introduced it to audiences around the world. Molina and vallenato' s mix
of cultures is the living proof of the equality of all people."

mixing global beats and world/dance music with Future World Funk,

to ragga, Japanese funk and Ghanian Hip Life to Moroccan Gnawa Dub.
