New Year's Eve Tropicalista : 31st December, London

For one night only, three of London's leading Latin club nights -Movimientos, Batmacumba & Arriba La Cumbia - join forces to present the essential Latin-Tropical party. Back by popular demand Tropicalista returns for a right rocking tropical, global, carnivalistic latino, samba rave up.

Saturday 31st December 2011 @ Rich Mix
35 - 47 Bethnal Green Road,, E1 6LA London, United Kingdom

Expect a full on Afro-Latin bloco show with traditional costume, dancers and singers for a midnight New Year crescendo, as well as mind blowing DJ sets from London's finest. It's gonna be the hottest dance floor in town.

AY CARAMBA! To make the whole party go with an extra festive bang there is authentic live music provided by London’s finest samba, drumming outfit Eri Okan.

For the last ten years ERI OKAN have been fusing original street culture from London with Afro block rhythms from Brazil. The result is a compelling batteria of rhythmic sound fused with the influences of Afro Beat, Reggae and folkloric traditions. With a drum section of over twenty percussionists backed up by the singing and songwriting talents of Xavier Osmir (Brazil), Marcina Arnold (UK) Tracey Milliner (UK) and Rebeca Valim (Brazil) they really are a tour de force and the real deal.

DJs Cal Jader & Arias spearhead the new Latin American and Tropical underground sounds in London. Their sets mix Cumbia, Merengue and Salsa with Hip Hop, Ska and Reggae - alongside the freshest Tropical bass and newest global sounds.

DJ Cliffy (Batmacumba) will be playing his unique mix of sassy sambas, favela funk and vintage vinyl plus an epic selection of new Brazilian bangers from techno-brega to baile funk mash-ups.

Russ Jones aka the Hackney Globe Trotter brings the red hot vibe of his twisted Colombian, Cumbia, Chicha party Arriba La Cumbia to the mix spinning the finest classics to the latest ghetto club bangers.
