With hits such as “Solo tu y yo” (Just the two of us)“, Mentirosa”, ‘Ladron de tu Amor, “Estar Enamorado”, “Todo se Derrumbo”, “Mi Fruto”, “Yo soy Aquel” , "Guaguanco vale mas” and his “Tribute to Louie Ramirez” accompanied by Dorance Lorza’s band is set to be a unmissable event this 29th May kicking off London with his european tour "Noche Caliente".
There are very few salsa singers that can boast such a long and successful career as Ray de la Paz. Since 70, as a singer of Ray Barreto (Fania Records), then in the 80-90 as co-creator of the salsa romantic movement and lead singer of Louie Ramirez band to the new millennium, as twice gammy winner with the world’s best salsa orchestra, the Spanish Harlem Orchestra!
Ray’s elegant, flawless style has put him up there with the great “soneros” (improvisers) of our times and now more than ever when that dying art form is harder and harder to get from young singers.
Probably the first super star of the then new salsa romantic explosion, Ray de la Paz alongside his “compadre” Luoie Ramirez created a new way of tropical music, departing from the already tired sound that NY latino musicians had been producing for years, and they became a massive hit in all over Latin America with their album “Noche Caliente”.
