There’ll be 10 different “ecological zones” with ethical fashion shows, a swapshop, a health and healing area, and a speakers tent with some very special guests. On top of that, look out for two full days of festival music with a global/local vibe including Cuban, ska, gypsy, roots and folk. Finally, there’ll be a huge children’s area with a recycled textile mountain at the centre, and loads going on for kids: craft and costume making, felting, an edible labyrinth, dance and theatre.
The whole festival is powered by wind, solar and hydrogen, and in a piece of nifty planning, coincides with World Environment Day on 5 June. If you’re into learning more about being green while having fun at the same time, this is the festival for you.
The London Green Fair is held on the 4th and 5th June, from midday till 7.30pm.
It takes place on Cumberland Green, in The Regents Park, London NW1, which is North of Chester Rd. Access is via The Broadwalk, or through either Cumberland or Gloucester gates.
