Fuerza London Festival presents: MANOLO ESCOBAR. Saturday 21 May, Doors: 7pm @Union Chapel. Manuel “Manolo” García Escobar, more commonly known by his stage name Manolo Escobar, is a multi-million album selling artist, actor and Spanish institution, best-known for the anthems of Spanish popular music Que Viva España and El Porompompero, and other popular songs such as Mi Carro, ¡Ay Caridad! and “Mi Pequeña Flor”, makes a rare visit the the UK to perform an intimate show at London’s Union Chapel.
He will present his latest performance, ‘De Manolo a Escobar’, which translates, from Manolo to Escobar, a journey through Manolo’s 50 year career, when his songs played an important part in the Spanish way of life and culture. An intimate show with humour and songs featuring Guillermo Marin on the piano, master of ceremony Marc Rosich narrating the show, and Manolo Escobar performing his songs and telling stories.
Without doubt, one of the most exciting shows in Spain, an intimate take on his classic shows of pasodoble and coplas, an alternative tale of bullfighting afternoons, the neighbourhood cinema shows and Spanish fiestas, and a once in a lifetime opportunity to see one of the most acclaimed artists in Spanish history.
