Quantic : 25th March

Will Holland, aka Quantic doesn’t come round these parts much since he fell in love with and moved to Cali, Colombia. You can’t blame him though, Colombia’s traditional Cumbia music fits Quantic like a glove: it has the fat grooves, the warm basslines, and the swinging beats Will has been championing since his origins as a young producer down in Brighton.

As Quantic’s output doesn’t follow a linear route – his albums range from instrumental hip hop, to orchestral jazz/funk via electronica, cumbia, reggae & dub – it’s always difficult to know what he’s going to come up with next, and therein lies the joy for his fans; despite his music always having that characteristic warm and swinging Quantic feel to them, the form it takes is in constant flux.
Not surprising then that his dj sets follow in that same vein. Weaving seamlessly music from various styles, periods, and tempos his sets never cease to delight, entertain, and ultimately satisfy the crowd. In that Quantic way.
Quantic plays a very rare London dj set at the suitably friendly and colourful Passing Clouds in Hackney with Mr Doris, a secret live band and Soundcrash djs in support. Don’t miss it, this one’s going to be great fun.
9pm-late!
