MR RE is one of the best-known and most talented Cuban musicians working in the UK. An all-round artist, he can do it all - as composer, singer, arranger, pianist and trombonist - and has been making waves at venues across the country. Whether playing live, recording in the studio or collaborating with other artists, he brings a unique mix of Cuban sabor and London attitude. His newest project VIVA CUBA blends the best of a wide range of genres for a truly new and different sound and making a dynamic impact.

Jorge Armando De Armas Sarria; aka "Gerardo" is a natural Cuban Rumbero
from Havana who was born into a family that has produced notable names in
the world of Afro Cuban Music.(Amelia Pedroso, female Akpown and
famous Rumbero Ricardo Santa Cruz amongst others).
Gerardo has been a working musician all his adult life, singing and playing percussion in groups such as IROSSO OBA, COLUMBIA DEL PUERTO, DANZA CUBA, RUMBACHA, and finally Grammy winners YORUBA ANDABO with whom he travelled widely. He is also Omo Anya (child of Anya) which allows him to play the sacred Bata Drums in religious ceremonies to the Orisha. Gerardo has lived and breathed Rumba and Afro Cuban Music since birth and is now he living in the UK.
The only authentic Cuban singer and percussionist in this country dedicated to
playing Rumba, Gerardo has just formed his first Rumba group in the UK
"RUMBACHE" with the cream of Cuban percussionists including RANDY LESTER,
HAMMADI RENCURREL VALDES and ORESTES NODA.
Gerardo is also singer and percussionist with the London Lucumi Choir - the only Community Choir in the world dedicated to singing to the ORISHAS.

DJ Javier will be on the decks with a top selection of salsa, timba, merengue, reggaeton, bachata and a late night house and R&B session.

There’s a Cuban dance class from 9.30 -10.30 pm and this month Ariel Rios Robert – artistic director of London’s Cuban dance troupe – CubanaDanza will be teaching a Cuban Rueda class.
Ariel, back in the UK after an extended trip to Cuba, will be bursting with new ideas and influences straight from Havana to London. Don’t miss the chance to learn some new moves from this dance master.
