Venezuelan Brass Ensemble : 1st. February

Sound of Venezuela - Meet the next generation

Formed from the ranks of the legendary Simón Bolívar Youth Orchestra, the Venezuelan Brass Ensemble sweeps audiences away with the passion and exuberance of its performances. 'The power of the sound they make is immense and intense. Great waves of fabulous brass hit you somewhere in your stomach' (Telegraph).

In 2007 the 60-strong group made its debut at the BBC Proms, drawing praise for its exceptional ensemble playing. With a communicative spirit akin to a smaller group of players, the Venezuelan Brass Ensemble embodies chamber music on a large scale.
This concert follows a performance by the Venezuelan Brass Ensemble's colleagues from the Simón Bolívar String Quartet in September 2010.
